Interview with Liz (Refugee Foster Care: Case manager)
Currently we are spotlighting a non-profit program called Refugee Foster Care of Catholic Charities Santa Clara County. They are the only northern non-profit as an URM-Unaccompanied Refugee Minor program.
They provide a team of staff that include Social Workers, Case Managers, Counselors etc. to provide wrap around services to unaccompanied refugee minors resettling in America to establish a new life for themselves. All youth are matched with a foster family who have been certified and trained.
The team trains, recruits and certifies foster parents living in the Bay Area, CA. Serving over 5 counties.
They teach teenagers how to be self sufficient, learn a new language, build healthy relationships and assist them in navigating american systems.
